So our countdown has begun! We are only a few weeks away from the end of the year, and the city has issued a major announcement about their annual New Year’s Eve event, which, as we expected, will be explosive! In December of this year, look up at the sky above the Calgary Tower and watch the "bang" firework show.

"After canceling the fireworks last year, we are very happy to see the dazzling fireworks show relaunched in 2022," Mayor Jyoti Gondek said in a press release. "The fireworks on New Year's Eve uplifted our spirits and symbolically reminded us that a bright day is coming."

As they have done in the past few years, this special show will be in sync with Calgarians who can listen to the CJSW 90.9 FM soundtrack at 11:55 PM on December 31, a few minutes before they light up the sky.

In addition, it is important to note that due to the fireworks display, the following roads will be closed between 11:45 and 12:15 on New Year’s Eve, and cars and pedestrians are prohibited, so please plan accordingly! :
