Campus landmark will be lit in burnt orange with a numeral “1” on all four sides in recognition of the Men’s Golf National Championship.

AUSTIN, Texas — The University of Texas Tower will be lit in burnt orange with a numeral "1" on all four sides tonight (June 2) to commemorate the Texas Men's Golf program's 2022 National Championship. Per campus tradition, the University recognizes UT sports programs with a burnt orange lighting of the campus landmark with the numeral "1" appearing on the building's four sides when a Longhorns' team claims an NCAA team title.

Fans are encouraged to arrive in front of the Littlefield Fountain on 21st Street from 8:30-9 p.m. CT to watch the team take group photos.

The Men's Golf team posted a dramatic 3-2 victory over Arizona State on Wednesday afternoon in the NCAA Championship match at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. The Longhorns earned their fourth NCAA team title in program history, as Texas previously claimed the championship in 1971, 1972 and 2012.
