If you weren't lucky to snag a ticket to Enchanted Airlie this year (or even if you did), no worries: we've found some of the many Wilmington-area homes with their own impressive light shows.

And many of the homes known for such elaborate decorations are again showing their spirit by decorating for the holidays. They do so in a variety of ways with lights, inflatables and even choreographed Christmas music.

We've found some of the many Wilmington-area homes with their own impressive light shows so you don't have to. Some people go above and beyond with the scale of their displays and the creativity they show while showing their love for the holidays.

Here are some of the best decorated homes in the Wilmington area.

Take a drive and check out some of these beautiful displays and you'll be sure to find others as well.

If you go to only one of these homes this year make it this one in Leland. The Ford family has been decorating since they moved to the area in 2017.

They are a military family and are being transferred in the spring so this is your last chance to see their display filled with more than 50,000 lights.

They also accept canned goods and monetary donations, which go to local food banks. They have already collected 1,300 pounds of food.

Even though it’s a lot of work Tyler Ford continues to do it every year to provide food for those less fortunate and “as a way to give back to the people of Brunswick County.”

They are open for visitors daily from 5:30-10 p.m. and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.

All the homes on this Ogden cul-de-sac have been decorating for about the past 20 years.

They start decorating on Thanksgiving weekend and the residents are used to a consistent stream of cars that come through to admire the many displays.

The Melton family at 201 Melton Road has been decorating for the holidays for the past 19 years.

Although there are certainly plenty of lights it’s the inflatables that steal the show.

Some of those include Snoopy, polar bears, Santa’s, penguins and the Grinch.

The always-popular home in the Holly Tree neighborhood has a daily Christmas show that runs from 5:30-10 p.m. with the display synced to 101.1 on your FM dial.

Keep in mind for next year that they also feature an extensive Halloween display.

The picturesque residential neighborhood behind Mayfaire Town Center has a number of homes that have carried on the tradition of decorating for the holidays.

It’s a great walking neighborhood and is best seen by parking your car and admiring the lights on foot.

One of the highlights is the many palm tress that are wrapped in lights in the neighborhood's common areas.

This home is located in the North Chase neighborhood a few miles, yes, north of Wilmington, although still considered Wilmington for postal service.

The area has plenty of examples of Christmas cheer, with this one of the many standouts. In fact, some of them are next to this home. It's one of many that feature a light show.

Probably the most famous lights in the area are the Lake Linda's Christmas Lights at 218 Old House Rd. in Hampstead, just off U.S. 17 next to Bojangles.

The Register family has put on the display every year since 2011 and the display was featured last year on ABC’s The Great Christmas Light Fight.

And for good reason: hundreds of thousands of lights are synchronized to music.

They are open 5:30-10 p.m., seven days a week through New Year’s Day.

Several homes on this court located off Sheffield Dr. do a wonderful job showing their holiday spirit.

The homes at 1221, 1300 and 1301 are some of the highlights on the street.

And, oh yeah, keep a lookout for the Santa Claus on one of the roofs!

The area features a number of displays but two of the best are at 1300 and 1305 Lovingston Lane at the corner of Chelon Ave.

Make sure to wander throughout the neighborhood as many others are worth seeing as well.

The home is one of several in Wilmington that is synched to music.

For this show, make sure to tune to 89.1 to get the full effect of this display located off Carolina Beach Rd.

Many of the homes on Quail Woods Road are decorated for the holidays. It's located off Murrayville Road and close to some of the other larger displays in the Ogden area.
